Bethal – Mpumalanga Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane officially unveiled the state-of-the-art R800m Bethal Regional Hospital in the Govan Mbeki Local Municipality this week.
Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane was accompanied by Health MEC Sasekani Manzini, who is also the ANC provincial spokesperson.
The health facility is equipped with a dental care unit, radiology services, a pharmacy, a maternity ward, emergency services, and a mortuary, among other services offered.
Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane said the multimillion-rand hospital would play a crucial role in the daily lives of residents, highlighting the importance of healthcare provision.
“We’re [officially] handing over the Bethal hospital today. The community is delighted to have such a healthcare facility. They’re promising to take care of the hospital. The ANC-led government continues to deliver services to its people,” she said.
The premier also addressed the issue of medical staff shortages, saying that steps were being taken to resolve the crisis.
“The government has ensured the hiring of more medical staff. Vacant positions will be filled in the future to ensure that our people continue to access adequate healthcare services,” said Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane.
