A Johannesburg woman may never walk again after she was injured in a horrific crash in Linden on Friday morning.
A witness said two cars collided head-on with one of the vehicles coming to a rest against a traffic light.
“A thirty-year-old female driver was found to have sustained serious injuries,” said a paramedic from Emer-G-Med.
“Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise her before she was placed onto a specialised stretcher, used for the treatment and prevention of spinal cord injuries.”
The injured woman was transported under the supervision of an emergency care practitioner to a nearby hospital.
A man who was driving the other car sustained moderate injuries and was treated on scene.
He was later taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
