Hungary on Saturday scored first in their 1-1 draw against world champions France in the EURO2020 Group F match played in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.

Favourites France started well but were caught at the back in the dying minutes of the first half when Attila Fiola sent the packed Puskás Aréna into delirium with his goal.

The second half was a tight affair and only swung into France’s favour when Ousmane Dembélé was brought on.

His runs at defenders created pressure at the back for Hungary. Dembele hit the post before he faded away losing the ball one too many times. He was eventually substituted.

One of Kylian Mbappé’s mazy runs at the Hungary defence paid off when his dangerous cut in fell kindly for Antoine Griezemann to score the equaliser.

Hungary held on to the end with fans celebrating the draw as if they had won the Euros.
