Orangisers of the first Rugby Africa Media and Photography Awards on Wednesday announced that World-Cup-winning Springbok legend Tendai ‘Beast’ Mtawarira will be on the jury panel.
South Africa’s third-most capped Springbok, joins the panel of past rugby male and female players, and high-ranking senior executives of companies active in Africa, as well as rugby male and female referees.
Rugby Africa General Manager Coralie van Den Berg said: “Tendai is a role model for a lot of Africans, whether they are rugby fans or not, and his presence is a heart-warming accolade to the 39 member countries of Rugby Africa.”
Last year the 35-year-old Zimbabwean-born former South Africa loose-head prop was named in the World Rugby’s Team of the Decade for between 2010 and 2020.
