A man was shot dead along Chris Hani Road, in the Avoca area north of Durban. on Monday night.
Emer-G-Med paramedics who attended the scene said when they arrived they found three men with gunshot wounds. They were victims of an armed robbery incident.
One of the wounded men was declared dead on the scene.
Another man was found in a critical condition. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital by a Netcare911 Aero-Medical Helicopter.
The third man was found to have suffered moderate injuries.
“He was treated and stabilised using advanced life support intervention, before being taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care,” said a paramedic.
The victims have not been named and no arrests have been made. Police are investigating.
