Friends and family of slain salon owner Yvonne Kangausaru gathered Kings and Queens in Randburg on Sunday for a memorial service nearly two weeks after her brutal murder.
Relatives asked what it was that 25-year-old Yvonne could have done to deserve to be killed in such a brutal manner.
Her body was found by her middle-aged boyfriend in her bedroom on 13 October 20121 with at least 9 stab wounds in her back. Her neck had been severed.
It was later established that she may have been stabbed up to 20 times by her attacker who is yet to be arrested.

He demanded justice and said he would not rest until the murderer was brought to book.
Friends and family spoke about how they were still bewildered at the turn of events that cut short the life of a budding entrepreneur.
Yvonne owned a salon in Edenvale, Johannesburg, and had just bought an apartment in the same suburb. She was just settling in when she was found dead in the bedroom.
The brutal attack happened in the afternoon, but neighbours said they did not hear any screams or commotion.
Police said the crime scene indicated that there was a struggle before Vyonne was overpowered and stabbed in the back.
Vyonne’s boyfriend – a white man in his fifties who lives in Sandton, has been quizzed by the police.
Last week, the police said they “had not cleared anyone and everyone remained a suspect”.
Burial arrangements are yet to be announced.
