Top South African Comedian and Television host Trevor Noah has sued a New York doctor and hospital for botching the surgery he underwent a year ago.
Quoting court papers the Daily Beast reports on Sunday that The Daily Show host alleges that he sustained permanent, severe and grievous injuries after receiving improper and negligent services while under the care of Dr. Riley J. Williams III, an orthopedic surgeon practicing at The Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan.
Orthopedic surgeons are doctors who specialise in the musculoskeletal system – the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles that are so essential to movement and everyday life.
Noah alleges that because of the maltreatment, he was not only disabled, but also unnecessarily bedridden, emotionally wounded, and has suffered loss of enjoyment of life.
The Daily Beast – an American news website focused on politics, media and pop culture – reports that the complaint also alleges that the nature of the surgical errors will permanently inhibit the comedians physical faculties.
As reported in People, the hospital has denied the malpractice accusations, claiming them to be meritless.
The Bulrushes has not yet established the nature of the surgery, why it was performed, or how much money Noah is suing for.
