The two missing Soweto teenage girls – 15-year-old Lindelani Sharenn Mavhunga and 14-year-old Lisakhanya Lupuwana – have been found.
Sowetan Live is reporting that Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo has confirmed that the teenagers were found in the neighbourhood on Thursday night.
Captain Masondo would not be drawn to give further details.
Lindelani and Lisakhanya were reported missing last month.
They had last been seen around 15:00 on Tuesday, 28 December 2021 leaving their Soweto home in Glenridge, Protea Glen ext 16.
Statistics garnered from Missing Children SA indicate that 23% of the children reported missing are not found, or are found deceased.
Although the police are not saying where the girls were found many people are relieved that they were found alive.
