CORRECTION: Naidoo not leaving SAPS only moving from the spokesperson job.
Brigadier Vish Naidoo on Monday night said he was calling time on his long and illustrious career as South African Police Service (SAPS) national spokesperson.
“After serving 29 years in SAPS communication, 16 of which at national level, the time has come for me to say goodbye,” said Brigadier Naidoo in a terse statement to media colleagues.
“It was indeed a pleasure speaking for the SAPS Nationally as well as representing the country internationally.”
Brigadier Naidoo told 702 radio on Tuesday that he was remaining in the police service, but was giving way to a younger person to be the spokesperson.
He is returning to KwaZulu-Natal to take up a new position.
