Eskom has again implemented load shedding from Monday 21:00 – a day after saying it had suspended the power rationing because it had sufficient power.
The struggling power utility said it “regrets to inform the public that Stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented from 21:00 tonight until 5:00 Tuesday to conserve and replenish emergency reserves.”
Eskom added: “Since midnight we have lost a unit each at Camden, Kusile, Duvha, and Malta power stations.”
The power utility said total breakdowns amount to 16 261 MW while planned maintenance is 5 350 MW of capacity as “we continue with reliability maintenance”.
