Rapper Riky Rick has died.
Social media was awash with messages of shock and condolences hour before his family confirmed the tragedy Wednesday.
The 34-year-old musician, whose real name was Rikhado Makhado reportedly took his own life.
It was an open secret that Riky Rick had his struggles with depression over the year.
He is the second celebrity to commit suicide in recent times after renowned actor Patrick Shai of Generations fame took his own life last month, on 22 January.
Riky Rick was not only a rapper. He was also a songwriter, singer, composer, actor, entrepreneur, fashion designer.
He was the founder and owner of the record label Cotton Club Records.
Riky Rick is survived by his wife, Bianco Naidoo and two children.
