Footballer Thomas Partey has converted to Islam.
The 28-year-old Ghanaian combative midfielder plays for Arsenal in the English Premier League.
A tweet from the imam stated: Praise be to God who guides whomever wills. May God Almighty make him firm on Islam.
Partey began his professional career at Spanish club Atlético Madrid in 2013, going on loan to Mallorca and Almería.
The midfielder returned to Atlético in 2015.
Patey, who has not commented on his conversion to Islam, signed for Arsenal in 2020.
