Saturday night turned out to be a frightening and life-threatening ordeal for a woman motorist who was shot in an attempted hijacking in Cullinan, Gauteng.

“A female motorist has been left fighting for her life after being shot in an alleged attempted hijacking incident last night,” said Emer-G-Med on Sunday.

Paramedics arrived on the scene just after 9 pm in the Cullinan area, where they found the wounded woman in a critical condition.

“A decision was made to airlift the lady with the assistance of the Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter to a specialist facility for the definitive care that she required,” said Emer-G-Med.

Police were on the scene, but no arrests were reported.
