Former president Jacob Zuma on Monday failed to attend his scheduled court case on Monday owing to illness.
The former president, who turns 80 on Tuesday, was expected to go on trial for corruption, racketeering, and money laundering in the High Court in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.
Zuma is jointly charged with Thales, the arms manufacturer in a decades-old matter related to the 1999 multi-billion rand arms deal.
The Jacob Zuma Foundation said their patron’s lawyers were in a discussion with Judge Piet Koen regarding the way forward.
