Britney Spears and Sam Asghari announced in an Instagram joint statement on Saturday that they have lost their “miracle baby”.
The statement said: “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy.
“This is a devastating time for any parent.
“Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along, however we were overly excited to shared the good news.”
“Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family.”
Last month the 40-year-old pop singer said on Instagram that she was on holiday in Maui with Sam her fiancé when she found out she was preggers.
At the time, Britney said she had lost so much weight to go on her Maui trip only to gain it back.
I thought, geez, what happened to my stomach? she wrote on Instagram.
So I got a pregnancy test and, uh, well I am having a baby!
It was sadly not to be.
In their latest Instagram post the couple said: “We are grateful for all of your support. We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment”.
