A man, who witnesses say stabbed his mother to death before he drank her blood, appeared in the Koster Magistrate’s Court, North West, where his matter was postponed to the beginning of next month.
The case against 24-year-old Thabang Moswane was postponed to 1 September 2022.
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), is still to decide if the case will be transferred to the high court in the North West.
While the post-mortem report has been completed, the photo album was still outstanding, for investigations to be completed.
“Moswane has abandoned his bail, and he will remain in police custody until the next court appearance,” said Henry Mamothame, NPA Regional Spokesperson North West Division.
The accused allegedly stabbed his mother to death and faces a charge of murder.
Police reports reveal that Boons police were called out, to a horrific murder scene in Mathopestad, on Monday afternoon, 9 May 2022.
On arrival, the police found Kedisaletse’s body inside a shack, with numerous stab wounds.
Initial information indicated that there was a fight between the accused and his 53-year-old mother Kedisaletse Elizbeth Moswane.
“The police were informed that Thabang was allegedly seen drinking his mother’s blood, after stabbing her. He was immediately arrested and appeared before the Koster Magistrate’s Court.,” said Mamothame.
