A 10-year-old boy and his two-year-old sister were among the 20 people injured Friday when two minibus taxis collided along Cedar Road in the Chartwell area, Johannesburg.
Emer-G-Med said the boy and girl were critical and were airlifted to a hospital.
“As many as twenty people are believed to have suffered injuries with two, a brother and sister aged 10 and two years old respectively, suffering critical injuries,” said Emer-G-Med.
“Advanced Life Support intervention was needed to stabilise them before a call was made to airlift them through to a specialist facility for the definitive care that they required.”
The cause of the collision, which occurred at about 6 pm, the subject of a South African Police Services investigation.
