US rapper Coolio has died at the age of 59.
Reports from the US say the rapper was found dead in a friend’s house in the bathroom. No drugs or paraphernalia were found on the scene.
The Grammy award winner for “Best Solo Rap Performance” for “Gangsta’s Paradise,” died on Wednesday.
Coolio, whose real name was Artis Leon Ivey Jr., achieved mainstream success in the mid-to-late 1990s with his albums It Takes a Thief (1994), Gangsta’s Paradise (1995), and My Soul (1997). He is best known for his 1995
Gangsta’s Paradise – the 1995 hit – was the soundtrack of the Michelle Pfeiffer film “Dangerous Minds” that sampled Stevie Wonder’s 1976 song “Pastime Paradise.”
