Mbombela (Nelspruit) – Suspected armed robber 35-year-old Napoleon Joseph Nyalungu, who was arrested in connection with the murder of a German tourist, on Wednesday briefly appeared in the Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court.

The accused was allegedly one of the armed robbers who accosted four German tourists near Kruger National Park and tried to hijack their car – a Hyundai H1.

The driver of the car, 67-year-old Schnarr Joerg, tried to get away, but the armed gang shot him dead at Numbi Road, near White River. Three other tourists survived the attack.
