Ryan Coogler – the director of Wakanda Forever – has written a passionate “thank you letter” thanking everyone who watched the sequel to Black Panther on opening night.

CBR.com reports that Wakanda Forever is currently tracking to earn anywhere from $175M to $200M during its opening weekend at the domestic box office, which would be just a hair under the $202M the first Black Panther film earned back in February 2018.

Black Panther was a groundbreaking film for Marvel Studios.

The film not only featured a predominantly Black cast but was also the first superhero film to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.
