RESCUERS: Johannesburg Emergency Services said rescue operations would resume Monday

Johannesburg – The search resumes this morning for people who were swept away during a weekend baptism ceremony at Jukskei River in Morningside.  

Many of the more than 30 people taking part in the ceremony were thought to have been swept away.

Emergency services have confirmed 14 bodies have been recovered.

The search will resume tomorrow for church members who were swept away by the Jukskei River yesterday. 14 people have now been confirmed dead. They were taking part in a baptism ceremony when they were caught by the flash floods. pic.twitter.com/uNxIuN6Y3V
