Johannesburg – Two boys, a one-year-old and a 12-year-old, as well as a 24-year-old woman, died in a Thursday morning car crash along the N14, near Knoppieslaagte Street in Centurion.

The tragedy just days before Christmas Day left 13 others injured.

It was estimated that the deadly crash occurred at about 08h30.

Recounting the horror, Emer-G-Med said: “On arrival on the scene, paramedics were met with absolute mayhem as the twisted frame of a double cab bakkie rested on its roof across the width of the roadway.

“An on-scene triage area was established, and closer inspection found thirteen occupants of the vehicle to have suffered injuries ranging from minor to fatal.

“Three were declared dead on arrival of paramedics, a one-year-old male, a 24-year-old female, and a 12-year-old male.”

Emer-G-Med said two infants were found in critical condition and advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise them before they were airlifted to specialist facilities for immediate definitive care.

“Eleven other patients were treated and stabilised on the scene before being taken to nearby hospitals by ambulances for further care, ” Emer-G-Med said.
