Johannesburg – Nelson Mandela’s granddaughter, Ndileka Mandela, on Friday rubbished reports in western media suggesting that she mocked or called out Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over the use of the late stateman’s quotes in the “Live to Lead” Netflix documentary.
Geo News is quoting The Australian as saying that Ndileka admitted to the “deeply upsetting and tedious” step that Meghan and Harry have taken to use her grandfather to fund life in the U.S.

SkyNews.com is reporting that, “the granddaughter of former president Nelson Mandela has highlighted the hypocrisy of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle using the peace activist’s legacy to further their own agenda”.
However, speaking exclusively to The Bulrushes, Ndileka insisted she had been misquoted.
Mandela’s 57-year-old granddaughter said she was “upset” over being deliberately misquoted so as to target Meghan and Harry.
Since the couple made unsavoury revelations in their six-part Harry & Meghan Netflix documentary about their rather tetchy relations with The Royal Family, the British media have slammed them at every opportunity.
“I have watched the two episodes of ‘Live to Lead’ … I honestly don’t find anything wrong with them using that opening thing … inspirational with a quote of grandad… I just think that people are making a mountain out of a molehill and they are wanting to persecute Meghan and Harry for no reason, honestly,” said Ndileka.
“I mean, Meghan has always been an activist, and this is in her activism work, which my grandfather was … He was a social justice activist through and through … and his entry point into politics was through social activism … which is exactly what Meghan and Harry are doing…
“A lot of people use granddad’s quotes and nobody has made such a big rah-rah as they made out of Harry and Meghan using this quotation.”
So disappointed was Ndileka about being misquoted, that she said in future she will not do any telephonic interviews in the future.
“What I said I was upset with was people commercialising grandad’s name… and I made an example, for instance, the social material where they place his face on social media purely for commercial reasons that really upsets me… not referring to Harry or Meghan ”.
She said the couple “used the quotation for inspiration… I don’t see what the rah-rah is about… I just feel that they are being persecuted”.
Ndileka said she had already spoken to Sello Hatang, CEO of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, and had set the record straight.
“We had a chat this morning and I told him this is the relevance of what I was talking about and he also gave me the relevance of how they got involved with the whole project, which I support,” Ndileka.
The foundation worked with Prince Harry and Meghan regarding the use of the Mandela quotation.
