Pretoria – The highly anticipated Nedbank Cup Final between Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United on Saturday at Loftus Versfeld Stadium is sold out and Tshwane Metro Police have warned of road closures.
The Tshwane Metro Police said the expected number of spectators was 35 000 and the gates to the stadium will open at 14:00.
“Streets around the stadium will be affected from 07:00 to 22:00 on the day,” warned the Metro Police.
The following main street intersections will be closed to traffic:
- Kirkness and Park Street
- Kirkness Street at Loftus Park Entrance
- Bond and Farenden Street
- Kirkness Street and Lynnwood Road
- Lynnwood Road and Walton Jameson Avenue
- Lynnwood and University Road The following streets will also be affected
- Bond Street
- Jorissen Street
- Spuy Street
- Maple Avenue
- Villa Street
- Arcadia Street
- Burnett Street
- Ayton Street
- Brecher Street
- Melville Street
- Beckett Street
- Roper Street
Other streets in areas such as Arcadia and Hatfield will also be affected.
Tshwane Metro Police Officers will be deployed from 06:00 to monitor all street closures and affected roads.
“Motorists are urged to use alternative routes such as Pretorius Street and Stanza Bopape Street,” the Metro Police said.
