Johannesburg – South African concertgoers can expect a double dose of nostalgia when American music duo Chris Walker and Regina Belle tour the country in December.
The tour follows their sold-out stellar performances in South Africa nearly four years ago at the Soul and Jazz Experience.
Grammy award-winning Belle will perform in South Africa alongside long-time collaborator, Walker, for the first time since 2019.
The music duo will bring their iconic stage collaboration to the Durban ICC, in KwaZulu-Natal, and Sun City Super Bowl in the North West.
A soulful vocalist and jazz bassist, Walker has distinguished himself as both a valuable sideman and featured performer across the jazz, R&B and Gospel genres.
His iconic musical relationship with Belle dates back to the early 1990s, when he toured with her before becoming a musical director.
After noticing his voice, Belle gradually worked his vocals into her act.
Walker credits Belle for teaching him to find his voice.
After his 2019 sold-out show performance at the Sun Arena in Pretoria, US music muso Chris Walker will be back for a two-city performance at the Durban ICC and Sun City Super Bowl in the North West in December.
According to organisers T&S Platinum Concerts, the “Giving You All My Love” singer will take fans back down memory lane of his distinguished catalogue of hits including “How Do You Heal a Broken Heart” from his popular albums, “First Time“, “Sincerely Yours” and “We’re In This Love Together – A Tribute to Al Jarreau“.
The multi-award winning singer, songwriter and actress, Belle will belt out some of her greatest hits including “Make It Like It Was” and “Baby Come To Me” – her most notable duets, both with Peabo Bryson – and “If I Could“, and “This Is Love“.
Though her musical roots are in gospel, which she grew up singing in church, Belle has over the years moved gracefully between various genres, notably R&B and Jazz as a singer-songwriter before professionally taking up music as a career in the mid-1980s.
The Rutgers African American Alumni Alliance (RAAA) lists Belle one of their most notable alumni from Rutgers University, where she studied both Africana Studies and Music, and became the first female vocalist with the school’s jazz ensemble.

Fans of her trademark, smooth sultry love vocals can expect to sing along to more electrifying hits from her 1987 hit debut album, “All By Myself”, 1989 “Stay with Me“, her third studio offering “Passion“, platinum selling “This Is Regina!” and more.
Perfectly tying in with wider tourism efforts to promote South Africa as a major tourist and business event destination, the tour will kick off at the Durban ICC on Friday, 1 December 2023 at 7 pm, and then move to the Sun City Super Bowl Sunday, 3 December 2023 from 6 pm.
Tickets can be bought at Ticketpro from R690.
