Gerda Steyn Wins Comrades Marathon, Smashes Record

Durban – Gerda Steyn has won the 87,701 km Women’s Comrades Marathon 2023.

Gerda finished Sunday’s downhill marathon from Pietermaritzburg to Durban in a record time of 05:44:54.

Earlier, Tete Dijana won the men’s race for the second consecutive year.

This year he ran even faster to clock a record 5:13:58.

The Comrades Marathon Association has significantly hiked prize money to R500 000 for winners.
