Johannesburg – The Scale Up 2023 summit – an all-day long Women in Business workshop, is scheduled for Friday, (23 June 2023), and the registration has opened.
The development initiative, hosted by the hotel group Sun International in partnership with Grow Supplier ZA, aims to assist the growth of women-owned businesses in the facilities management and construction industry.
“Women-owned businesses play a vital role in the South African economy, and there is still a need to address the challenges that are obstacles to see the flourishing of the businesses,” Organisers said.
“Scaling up is complex, and every entrepreneur should know when and how to execute their scaling growth strategy like to satisfy a major increase in demand, strengthen a competitive position, or seize new market opportunities.”
Speakers will include Ipeleng Mkhari, CEO of Motseng Holdings; Azola Mayekiso, CEO of National Housing Finance Corporation; Fundi Mazibuko, Vice President at SABIPP and Lungile Zuma, Deputy Chairperson at SAWIC & BE.
Organisers said the summit was designed to improve the success rate of women-owned Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in facilities management and construction by providing curated business support.

Organisers said the Scale Up 2023 summit fosters collaborations in support of the growth of empowering women-owned SMEs through a curated ecosystem platform.
The platform enables public and private stakeholders to exchange knowledge and best practices in developing businesses owned by women.
The summit also facilitates dialogues on possible solutions that will enable women-owned SMEs to achieve growth objectives by educating them on the dynamics of scaling.
It also connects women-owned SMEs to opportunities for both financial and non-financial business support that can improve the growth and success of the businesses.
