Cape Town – Patriotic Alliance (PA) member Christo Alexander has won the by-election to become the new Councillor in Ward 20 in Geoage.
“We congratulate Councillor Christo Alexander, the new Ward Councillor for Ward 20 in George,” PA national spokesperson, Steve Motale, said on Thursday.
“After another round of by-elections in South Africa, it is clear that the momentum of the Patriotic Alliance (PA) continues as we grow our numbers and support.”
On allegations of possible election fraud, Motale said: “Serious questions will also have to be asked about the manipulation of the voters’ roll and the allegations made by GOOD of the Democratic Alliance (DA) registering voters who live outside the ward they should be voting in”.

Motale added: “In addition, for nearly 200 people to be registered at 4863 Primrose Crescent in George is an insult to anyone’s intelligence.
“The house in question is not an apartment block, nor does it seem to be concealing a massive underground bunker.
“It is a simple little bungalow on a small, dusty street that doesn’t seem to be a residential portal to another dimension.
“We call on the IEC to exercise basic common sense when auditing voters’ rolls. From the PA perspective, the Ward 16 outcome makes no sense, but we also have a lot to celebrate.”
Motale said the people of George have opened their hearts to the PA.
“We also discovered a welcome growth of support for PA president Gayton McKenzie and our party in the white community,” he said.
