Johannesburg – The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) on Tuesday announced that it has appointed Advocate Ntuthuzelo Vanara as its Chief Legal Counsel.
The appointment effective from today, (1 August 2023), forms part of SIU strategy which focuses on implementing business process improvements that are result driven, said Spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago.
“The strategy emphasises the positive impact of the SIU work, improving the turnaround time of investigations, reaching expected legal outcomes, and ensuring the implementation of SIU investigation outcomes and consequence management,” explained Kganyago.
Advocate Vanara brings a wealth of experience and expertise of more than 23 years in the legal fraternity.
Previously, Advocate Vanara served as Group Executive: Legal, Governance, and Regulatory for the South African Broadcasting Corporation).
He has also worked at the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa as Acting Registrar of Members Interest, Chief Director: Legal Advisor, and has occupied other legal positions.
Advocate Vanara holds a B. Proc through Vista University, LLB, and LLM through the University of the Free State.
“The SIU looks forward to Advocate Vanara leading our legal team and strengthening our Civil Litigation Division to achieve even greater milestones,” said Kganyago.
