Johannesburg – The Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court this week sentenced former Dudula Movement leader 35-year-old Ntlantla Lux Mohlauhi to two wholly suspended sentences for housebreaking and malicious injury to property.
On Wednesday Mohlauhi was sentenced to two years imprisonment, wholly suspended for three years, on the condition that he is not convicted of housebreaking.
He was also sentenced to another five years imprisonment, also wholly suspended for three years, on condition that he is not convicted of malicious injury to property during the period of suspension.
In addition, the court ordered the accused to pay the complainant, Victor Ramarafe, R9 500 before 13:00 on 24 August 2023 to compensate for damages to the complainant’s property.
The accused was arrested on 24 March 2022, following a complaint that was registered with Dobsonville South African Police Service alleging that he led members of the Dudula movement when they raided the complainant’s house in Dobsonville, in search of drugs.

When Mohlauhi led Dudula he went by the moniker “Nhlanhla Lux Dlamini”.
However, Mohlauhi cut ties with the radical anti-foreigner movement last year in July.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) confirmed on Thursday that the complainant was compensated as ordered by the court.
“The NPA welcomes the sentence and hopes it will promote respect for the rule of law,” said NPA Regional Spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane.
“We further hope that it will deter citizens from being a law unto themselves, but report suspicious activities in their surroundings to law enforcement authorities.
“Credit goes to Sergeant Thivhineli Sydney Phungo and Mr Duma for their collective effort that resulted in this successful prosecution.”
