Mbombela (Nelspruit) – It is all systems go for the matriculants in Mpumalanga to sit for their September trial examination ahead of the final year examination.
The one-month period examination is set to run in all three districts of Nkangala, Gert Sibande, and Ehlanzeni between August 28 and September 28.
Speaking to The Bulrushes Mpumalanga Department of Education Spokesperson Jasper Zwane said learners need to value the seriousness of the trial examination by dedicating much of their time to their studies since this examination plays a vital role in testing a learner’s readiness ahead of the final year examination.
“This trial examination provides an important opportunity for learners to write a full examination paper similar to the final examination and identify areas where they need to focus their studies,” Zwane said.
He says parents also need to show support to the learners during this time of the year by not allocating a load of home activities to the learners so that they can well concentrate to their studies.
The disturbance of teaching and learning during this time of the year over service delivery and other related activities is also a matter of concern to the department.
“Disruption of school and study time deprives learners of valuable time to prepare for their examinations. Service delivery protests are making it very difficult for teachers to cope with the syllabus,” Zwane said.
