Standerton – A corpse has been discovered along the R50 road near a farm in Mpumalanga.
The decapitated, half-naked man was identified this week by his next of kin as 42-year-old Wayne Henderson from Hercules in Pretoria, Gauteng.
Henderson’s body, which was covered in a duvet, was found next to his abandoned Renault Sandero.
Police believe he was abducted in Hercules, murdered, and dumped in Mpumalanga.
Brig Selvy Mohlala said the corpse was discovered by a farmworker, who alerted police.
“The deceased was found with his neck sliced open and a stab wound [to] his head. Henderson was positively identified by a family member,” said Mohlala.
“On investigating, police found bloodstains in the boot of the vehicle, a grey Renault Sandero. Circumstances surrounding his murder are unclear, but police are working hard to arrest the suspects.”
Anyone with information about the murder should call Captain Sean Brouwer on 079 499 6312 or 08600 10111.
