Pretoria – Mamelodi Sundowns are the first champions of the inaugural African Football League (AFL)league after defeating Wydad Wyadad Casablanca of Morocco 2-0 at Loftus Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Namibian star Peter Shaulile scored the opener for Sundowns toward the end of the first half much to the delight of most of the 45 000 fans packed in the stadium.
Aubrey Modiba scored the second goal for Sundowns in the second half.
Sundowns held on to the end to win with an aggregate of 3 goals to 2 having lost the first leg 1-2 away to Wydad.
