Pretoria – Police have called for help to find two cousins who were abducted Wednesday on their way to school in Brits, North West.
North West police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Funani said 17-year-old Zahraa Mohammed and 19-year-old Bataviya Mohammed were kidnapped in front of a primary school.
Lieutenant Colonel Funani said indications were that the cousins were driving from Bataviya’s home in Brits to school in Hartbeespoort when a maroon Audi A3 bumped their car in front forcing it to stop.
“Two armed men came out of the Audi A3 and ordered the cousins to get into a white Volkswagen Polo GTI that was driving behind the Audi A3,” said Lieutenant Colonel Funani.
“The suspects also got into the VW Polo GTI and fled the scene with the victims inside.
“The victims’ Mercedes Benz and the Audi A3 were found at the scene,” she said.
“The police in Brits have launched a search for three unknown suspects following the alleged kidnapping of two cousins.”
Police are requesting anyone who may have information that can assist in the investigations to contact the station commander of Brits, Brigadier Ellen Emmanuel on 082 449 7447.
