Eswatini – Two arrested bothers – Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, who are wanted in South Africa for their alleged role in the murder of popular rapper AKA and his celebrity chef friend Tibz – will remain in Eswatini for now.
The brothers appeared on Tuesday in the Manzini Magistrate’s Court in Manzini, Eswatini.
However, their extradition case was again postponed for another month.
Lawyers for the brothers said they are concerned about the safety of their clients if they are extradited to South Africa.
The Ndimande brothers will return to the Eswatini’s court next month (14 June 2024) when the court will hear the heads of arguments.
In Eswatini, the brothers face a charge of the unlawful possession of a firearm.
In South Africa, Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande are wanted for their alleged role in the murder of the rapper AKA, whose real name was Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, and his long-time friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.
AKA and Tibz were shot dead outside the popular Wish Restaurant on Durban’s Florida road late on a Friday night in February last year.
Apart from the two brothers, five other suspects have been arrested in connection with the double murder and remain in custody in Durban.
The murder suspects Lindokuhle Thakani, Lindani Ndimande, Eddie Myeza, Muzi Gwabeni, and Lindo Ndimande remain behind bars while they fight for bail in the Durban Magistrate’s Court.
