Durban – A seven-year-old girl died Thursday morning in a rear-end collision between a light motor vehicle and a minibus taxi on Inanda Road, near Parlock Road, in the Newlands area north of Durban.

ALS Paramedics said, “around 06:45 this morning” paramedics responded to a serious minibus taxi crash on “Inanda, near Parlock Road in the Newlands area North of Durban”.

Paramedics at the scene said a minibus taxi and a vehicle carrying school children on their way to school had collided in a rear-end collision.

“Paramedics quickly triaged the scene and found that the vehicle had seven occupants, unfortunately, a little girl believed to be seven years of age was found unresponsive,” said ALS Paramedics.

“Paramedics quickly assessed her, however, she had sustained multiple injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do for her and she was declared deceased on the scene.

“A further five children had sustained various injuries and were stabilized on the scene before being transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.”

None of the people in the minibus taxi were hurt.
