Johannesburg – Gauteng Agriculture and Rural Development MEC Vuyiswa Ramokgopa is the acting premier of the province from today.
In a terse statement at the weekend, Premier Panyaza Lesufi announced that he had appointed MEC Ramokgopa as Acting Premier of Gauteng.
Premier Lesufi will be in Germany on government business until the 28th of September 2024.
Ramokgopa, a member of the Rise Mzansi party, was appointed Acting Premier of the Gauteng Province, from Sunday, 22 September to Saturday, 28 September 2024, in accordance with Section 131 (1)(a) and Section 13 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996 (Act 108 of 1996).
