Johannesburg – The Palm Ridge Regional Court has transferred the Eskom R1,4 billion corruption case against Michael Harry Lomas to the Johannesburg High Court.
Lomas, who was recently extradited from the UK, will join 11 other accused in the dock on 3 December 2024.
The other accused include former Eskom’s senior executives and Tubular Construction Projects directors.
Lomas faces corruption charges related to the R745 million Eskom paid to the Tubular Construction Project.
Allegations are that two of the accused – former Eskom executive Abram Masango and senior manager France Hlakudi – fraudulently advocated for the company to receive a contract to build air-cooled condensers at Kusile.
As a result, construction costs at Kusile escalated to about R1.4 billion.
The other accused include the owner of Tubular Construction Projects, Antonio José Trindade, and the owner of Babinatlou Business Services, Maphoko Hudson Kgomoeswana.

Lomas, who has not made any formal bail application, will remain in custody.
