Johannesburg, South – American R&B songstress Keyshia Cole’s house burnt down during the devastating fires in Los Angeles forcing her to cancel performances in South Africa.
Announcing the cancellation of the highly anticipated South African tour, organisers said shows set to take place later this month will not go ahead as initially planned.
“The artist has been directly affected by the ongoing tragedy, including the loss of her home, and as a result, she is unable to proceed with her scheduled performance,” said a statement released by Tutone Communications on behalf of the show promoters Glen21 Entertainment.
“Together with her team, we have been working tirelessly to assess the situation, and in light of these unexpected and heartbreaking events, the difficult decision was made to call off the tour.
“The decision regarding a way forward will be finalised as soon as possible, and further details will be shared with fans by the end of next week.”
The statement said the well-being of the artist and her family are of the utmost importance during this difficult time.
“Current ticket holders will be notified via email with instructions on how to proceed by the end of next week,” the statement said.
The devastating fires have also burnt down the houses of other celebrities including Paris Hilton, Miles Teller, and Anthony Hopkins.
