Winklespruit – A disaster is unfolding in Winklespruit – the small seaside resort on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal – where rescue workers are frantically searching for a couple whose house was partially buried in a landslide.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson on Thursday morning, (20 February 2025), said the children had managed to escape, but their “mother and father” were buried under the mud and rubble from the collapsed parts of their home.
A sniffer dog was assisting with the search.
By mid-morning rescuers announced that they had recovered “both bodies”.
