Body Found Near Dumping Site In Christiana Identified By Her Family, Man Arrested

Potchefstroom – The badly decomposed body found partially covered with a sheet near a dumping site at Utlwanang Location, Christiana in the North West, has been identified as 47-year-old Elizabeth Tukula.

When her body, which appeared to have been partially burnt, was found on Tuesday, (25 February 2025), with the legs tied together.

Police spokesperson Captain Mpho Manyoba said a burnt mattress and blankets were found next to the body.

The victim has since been identified by her family as Elizabeth Tukula of Geluksoord in Christiana. 

Police are investigating a case of murder and they have arrested a 50-year-old man said to be the deceased’s partner.

Captain Manyoba said the accused was charged with murder and was scheduled to make his first appearance in the Christiana Magistrate’s Court today, Friday, 28 February 2025.
