Pretoria – Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Plant is “temporarily offline” due to deteriorated raw water quality characterised by cloudiness caused by the recent heavy rainfall.
“Our technicians are closely monitoring the situation and the plant will resume operations as soon as the water quality improves,” the City of Tshwane said on Tuesday, (4 March 2025).
The following areas in Region 7 were affected:
- Bronkhorstspruit Town
- Ekandustria
- Ekangala
- Rethabiseng
- Riamarpark
- Thembisile Hani Local Municipality (cross-border water supply)
- Zithobeni
The City of Tshwane said roaming water tankers will be arranged for all the affected areas.
The City of Tshwane apologised for the inconvenience that may be encountered as a result of this temporary shutdown.
