Johannesburg – Capital Live SA FM founder Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli are still missing nearly a month after they disappeared.
The couple was last seen at different locations on 18 February 2025.
Ndlovu, a member of the Press Club, was last seen leaving Denlyn Mall in Mamelodi wearing blue jeans, a blue and white long-sleeve shirt, and Nike sneakers.
His partner, Mdhluli, was last seen at their home in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga.
Capital Live SA FM is based at the Denlyn Mall.
This week the Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) said it stands with the community media sector and the National Press Club in the search for Ndlovu and Mdhluli.
MDDA CEO Shoeshoe Qhu said that the sector needs to band together to help secure the return of Ndlovu and his partner.
“We need to create as much awareness as possible to assist the authorities in locating our fellow colleague and his partner,” said Qhu.
“We urge community media at large to help spread information about this case as time is of the essence.”
There has been speculation that the couple may have fallen victim to extortionists.
Elijah Mhlanga, chairperson of the African Media and Communicators Forum was recently quoted in media reports as saying: “The case has raised concerns due to the circumstances of their disappearance, including a reported burglary at their home, which suggests foul play.
“We are increasingly concerned over the couple’s safety.”
Mhlanga urged community members and law enforcement authorities to assist in any way possible to help find the missing couple.
“Each day that passes without any information is concerning,” said Mhlanga.
“People don’t just vanish into thin air. Someone must have seen or heard something on that fateful day.”
Acting chairperson of the National Press Club Antoinette Slabbert has expressed her concern for the missing couple and implored law enforcement agencies to help locate them.
Police said anyone with information about the missing couple – Aserie Ndlovu and Zodwa Mdhluli – is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Lekganyane at Mamelodi West SAPS on 067 916 8968.
