Johannesburg – The Democratic Alliance (DA) has reported a case of fraud, corruption, and possible money laundering to the police against Senior Officials of the City of Johannesburg.
The complaints against five senior council officials relate to more than R18 million, which the DA said has gone missing.

DA Johannesburg Caucus Leader, Cllr Belinda Kayser-Echeozonjoku, led a delegation of party members when she reported the matter to the Johannesburg Central Police Station on Wednesday, (30 April 2025).

“It is clear that the City of Johannesburg has money problems due to an inefficient use of resources, corruption, and fraud – holding people accountable is the first step in turning the ship around,” said Cllr Kayser-Echeozonjoku.
