Pretoria – The South African Police Service (SAPS) has recovered parts believed to be from the missing VW Polo used by the three constables whose bodies were recovered from the Hennops River.
The bodies of the constables were recovered on Monday and Tuesday.
The police constables – 20-year-old Boipelo Senoge, 24-year-old Cebekhulu Linda, and 30-year-old Keamogetswe Buys were travelling in a VW Polo (registration number JCL 401 FS) from the Free State to Limpopo when they went missing.
They were last seen on Wednesday, (23 April 2025), at the Engen garage, near the Grasmere toll plaza along the N1.

The search for the missing constables ended Tuesday, (29 April 2025), with the discovery of all their bodies.
Two other bodies were also recovered in the Centurion area along the Hennops River.
While a Renault panel van was found on the scene, the VW Polo remained missing.
Today, Wednesday, (30 April 2025), national police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said parts thought to be from the missing VW Polo including a front and rear bumper have been found by the search and rescue teams.

“All three families have been notified of this latest development,” Brigadier Mathe said.
“Experts are trying to establish if these vehicle parts are linked to the VW polo that the three police officers were travelling in.
“A police reflector jacket belonging to one of the deceased police officers has also been found.”
Brigadier Mathe also revealed that SAPS divers, City of Tshwane divers, SAPS Special Task Force (STF) divers, and Search and Rescue South Africa, have located a metal object they suspect may be the missing vehicle.
“This metal object was felt by divers 4km from the N1. There is no confirmation as yet that this metal object is covered by debris,” Brigadier Mathe said.
SAPS Crime Intelligence, the cybercrime unit, detectives, Lyttleton Community Police Forum Traffic, fidelity secure fire, and vision tactical private security formed part of this operation.
Investigations continue.
