Durban – Three people have been shot -two of them fatally – along the Freemantle Road in the Hillary area, in Ethekwini, KwaZulu-Natal.
Spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said that just after 20:00 on Friday, ALS Paramedics responded to numerous calls of a shooting in the Hillary area.
“Initial reports were that three people had been shot numerous times and were in critical condition,” Jamieson said.
“ALS Paramedics arrived on the scene to find SAPS [SA Police Service], multiple security companies, and EMRS already in attendance.
“Paramedics found that three occupants had sustained gunshot wounds, two males and a female, all believed to be in their 30s.
“Unfortunately, one male and one female had sustained fatal injuries, and there was nothing Paramedics could do for them, and they were declared deceased on the scene.”
Jamieson said the third victim sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and was treated on scene before he was transported to a nearby hospital.
“At this stage, the events leading up to the shooting are unknown, however, SAPS will be investigating further,” said Jamieson.
No arrests have been reported.
