Bloemfontein – The three deceased constables, whose bodies were recovered from the Hennops River in Centurion, have been honoured with “official funerals,” the Free State South African Police Service Commissioner has announced.
The bodies of Constables 20-year-old Cebekhulu Linda, 24-year-old Boipelo Senoge, and 30-year-old Keamogetswe Buys were found earlier this week, several days after the police officers had been reported missing.
The wreckage of the missing VW Polo, which the constables were travelling in, was also recovered from the Hennops River.

The South African Police Service said the decision to afford and honour the constables with official funerals came after a meeting between the bereaved families, Free State Premier Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae, and Provincial Commissioner of Police Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane.
The official funerals will take place on separate dates between 8 and 10 May 2025.

In tribute to the dedication and service of the late constables, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, 06 May 2025, in Bloemfontein.
The memorial service will be held at Bobbiespark, 02 Hannah Street, Bloemfontein, and will start at 12:00.
The South African Police Service and the Free State Provincial Government extend deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the fallen members.
“Their passing touched the country deeply, but their dedication and contribution will never be forgotten,” the South African Police Service said.
