Moscow – Testing has begun for the first driverless boat in the capital city of Russia, reveals Maksim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
In a statement made available to The Bulrushes on Wednesday, 21 May 2025, Liksutov reported that specialists from the Center for Advanced Developments were testing the first “de boat” on the water.

“It will serve as a universal assistant for the transport police of the Central Federal District and will be able to automatically record violations in the waters of the Moscow River,” explained the deputy mayor.
“Among its advantages are the ability to perform tasks without human intervention, operation on electricity without breaks or vacations in bad weather, and protection of the Moscow government’s technology from external interference.”
Liksutov said the driverless boat has already been equipped with the necessary equipment.
“Our specialists are refining the software so that the new transport can move along a designated trajectory, determine a closed perimeter, and navigate around obstacles,” Liksutov said
“At the request of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, we are implementing unique driverless technologies in the capital’s transport system.
“They will serve as useful innovations for law enforcement agencies.”
