Johannesburg – All former mine workers in the Ekurhuleni district have been urged to register for Social Security Benefits for occupational diseases acquired during their work in the mining sector.

The Gauteng Department of Health (GDoH) announced that registration begins this morning, Monday, 21 July 2025, from 08:00 at various sites across the district to ensure that eligible ex-mine workers can access their unclaimed benefits and medical surveillance.

The registration period will remain open until 22 August 2025.

  • Bertha Gxowa Hospital
  • Dr. Clarence Mini Hall, Germiston
  • Tambo Memorial Hospital
  • Villa Nerina Hall, Boksburg
