Durban – A driver has died after rolling his car down an embankment into a ridge along Bill Wood Road in Queensmead Industrial area and landing in a river.
ALS Paramedics Medical Services spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, said the horror crash occurred just after 07:00 on Tuesday, 22 July 2025.
“ALS Paramedics Medical Services arrived on the scene to find that a single motor vehicle had lost control on Bill Wood Road before leaving the roadway and overturning multiple times, coming to rest at the bottom of the embankment in the river,” said Jamieson.
“Advanced Life Support Paramedics carefully made their way down the embankment.
“On arrival at the vehicle, they found a male believed to be in his sixties still in the vehicle.
“Unfortunately, the man had sustained fatal injuries, and there was nothing more Paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased on the scene.”
Jamieson said at this stage, the events leading up to the accident are unknown.
Police were on the scene.
